The Importance of Good Eye Care
Good eye care involves seeing clearly with your best prescription and also ensuring your eyes stay healthy. Our office concentrates on your prescription to ensure it is correct and you can see clearly and comfortably with eyeglasses or contact lenses. But seeing clearly is just one part of your overall eye health. Whether or not you wear any corrective lenses, it is important to have regular annual eye exams with an optometrist to maintain your clear vision for life. Children should have their first eye exam no later than the age of 6 months.
Seek Treatments Early to Avoid Vision Loss
Our doctors can detect eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and cataracts before you experience any significant loss of vision and offer you appropriate treatment options to maintain clear vision.
The optometrists at Maple Eyes are successfully fitting many patients with Ortho Keratology to eliminate glasses or contact lenses during the day and without surgery. Ask our doctors if you are a candidate for this procedure.
This procedure can also slow the progression of myopia by about half and is used commonly in children as young as 5 years old. Specialized soft contact lenses can also slow the progression of myopia by about half but need to be worn during the day.
